SCIENCE RESOURCES FOR EARLY LEARNERS (PREK - 3RD)
Here are some general science resources that can be used for
younger children when multi-level teaching a variety of science
topics.
 Science
Experiments for Young Learners is
a must-have lab resource to keep on hand for science units
in multi-level teaching. Use these activities with your youngest
child when your older child is studying the same topic. Each
lesson uses easy-to-find materials for the lab and include
simple worksheets for the kids to complete. Topics include:
Physical science, light, heat, electricity, magnetism, life
science, plants, five senses, animals, earth science, weather,
soils, fossils, rocks, planets, and technology. Written for
K-2nd grade. Recommended especially for the Kinesthetic
learner.
File Folder Games: Science K-3 is another
must-have resource for science units. Easy-to-make, simple-to-play
games that teach the following topics: energy, magnets, simple
machines, solar system, water, matter, senses, weather, plants,
nutrition, human body, animals, dinosaurs, and insects. You'll
need file folders, colored markers, and tagboard. Written
for K-3rd grade.
 For
those of you, like me, who don't have a green thumb try Wee
Enchanted Garden. A fun project to do while learning
about plants. Created by Imaginarium. Eventually, I will add
a Plant unit to this website.
Treasure
Box Press science kits. These kits are great
for moms who like to do science unit studies but need help

Create
a Space Notebook and Timeline. Check out this terrific

This would make a great science project for grades 1-6.

SCIENCE RESOURCES FOR 4TH - 12TH GRADE:
 Exploring
Creation with Astronomy by Jeannie Fulbright.
Using Charlotte Mason's methodology, 14 incremental lessons
employ narration, notebooking, hands-on projects,
and a course website to introduce 6- to 12-year-olds to
the wonders of the solar system and universe. 176 pages,
hardcover.
Exploring
Creation with Botany: By Jeannie Fulbright.

If
you are looking for a quality microscope
for an affordable price, purchase the Ultra Microscope
from Sonlight (click
on the Sonlight logo and search for “microscope”).
Most microscopes in the $200 or less price range are
not worth the money, but this one is. I've personally
used it and can honestly recommend it.
Considering
God's Creation, Fifth Edition by Susan Mortimer
& Betty Smith. A creative, in-depth encounter with
natural science from a biblical perspective. Learn about:
Creation, The Universe, Weather, Rocks, Plants, Animals,
Ecology, Human Anatomy & Physiology. Easy-to-use, hands-on approach, with the benefits
of notebooks. This set includes the teacher's guide and
the student book. Softcover from Eagle's wings. If you're
just starting out with unit studies, this is a great introduction.
Evolution
vs. Science & The Bible by Bob West
The
Amazing Story of Creation From Science and the Bible
by Duane Gish will help you teach the fallacy of evolution.
High
school physics - consider Kinetic
Books, especially for your visual/auditory

PRINTABLE
ANIMAL REPORT WORKSHEET
All
children like animals. Use this printable, Animal
Report worksheet (pdf document) as the basis for a study
in animals for children in 1-5th+. Print off as many copies
of the form as the number of animals your child will be reporting
on. Have your child find a picture of the animal to paste
on the sheet. Then have him research the animal and fill in
the information blanks (or dictate the information to you
if handwriting is difficult). Bind completed worksheets in
a cardstock cover (illustrated by your child) and place in
his portfolio! You will need Acrobat Reader to print the form.
