I love this art curriculum and so do the kids! You can use
this kit for one to three years or more, depending on how
often you do art. I recommend at least once a week, but families
who don't care for art can do it once per month. This is
a Christian based curriculum. Covers drawing, painting, and
a little art history. It's reproducible so you can use it
for the whole family. The kit comes with everything you need.

and crafts. This is a three-year, Christian-based art curriculum
designed for K-8th graders, 35 lessons per year. Lots of great
projects. The only thing that would make it better would be
color illustrations.

history textbook. Clues are provided for each painting to
help children see the details and meaning of the painting.

Kistler. This is an excellent introduction to drawing
that will teach them the basics. Mark studied under one of

will learn to draw a variety of cartoon characters. Lots of

Child's Story of Art by V. M. Hillyer. This is a
wonderful reader recommended for children of all ages to learn
about art history. It is out of print. Check your local library.
Discovering
Great Artists by MaryAnn Kohl. Super book of
activities that teach art techniques and art history. Learn
about Giotto by mixing your own egg paint, learn about Da
Vinci by taking apart an object and then drawing it, create
a snow picture with rubber cement like Andrew Wyeth, and much
more! Worth buying for your library! Over 70 lesssons. All

MY SHEEP 7 VIDEO SET video course. If you're
looking for an introductory, Christian-based art course that
can count as a high school art credit, this is the one I
would recommend. It's fun, Christian-based, and less expensive
and time consuming than taking an art course somewhere else.
The curriculum covers colored pencils, drawing, rules & measurements,
portraits & anatomy, nature, penmanship, art appreciation,
art in academia, and painting. (6th+)
Lifepac
Electives: Art, Workbook Set If you're looking
for a less expensive, introductory, Christian-based art course
that can count as an art credit, this is the one I would recommend.
This curriculum covers design, color, perspective, figure
drawing, sculpture, comics, printmaking, calligraphy, and
art appreciation. Although it is in a lifepac format, it's
not a fill-in-the blank curriculum. It has a lot of hands-on
assignments and quite interesting. (7th+)
Meet
the Masters at Home. Each lesson in this art
curriculum begins with the study of an artist, followed by
an introduction to the art technique used by the artist, and
then an activity using that art technique. The course is designed
to take 3-4 hours once per month. Artists included in this
volume are Vincent Van Gogh, Mary Cassatt, Piet Mondrian,
Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, and Winslow Homer. This is not
a Christian-based art course. Buy directly from Meet the Masters.
This can be used for a high school art credit.
Visual
Manna: I haven't used any of their products yet,
but I'd like to. It looks very interesting. They have art
resources for 1-12 and classes. I like the idea that they
incorporate history, science and literature in their art classes.

about the artists and their works a lot of fun. Also available
is a beautiful, clear plastic ruler which color images of
art masterpieces imprinted on it. This would make a nice reward

Here's a fun way for your kids to learn artists and their
works - a deck of cards and a mini booklet that includes
brief biographies of the painters. Artist studied in
this deck include Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, Seurat,

because everyone knows how to play "go fish." A
