Welcome to How to Homeschool Today

Hello! My name is Cindy Downes, the creator of this website. I'm a veteran homeschool mom with a degree in journalism from Oklahoma State University.  I created the How to Homeschool Today website for parents and teachers who know the value of a customized education — one that meets the specific needs of their students.

This is not a “one-size, fits all” resource. Instead, these resources will help you determine what your child needs based on his or her own interests and abilities, what the teacher needs based on the time and finances they have available, and what the lesson plan needs to be based on the ages and number of children in the classroom or family. This is education for the 21st Century.

On this website, you’ll find up-to-date information about homeschooling, discover how to choose the best curriculum for your students, and have access to free record keeping forms, worksheets, and unit studies, as well as other educational resources.

You'll also learn about my products including my newest one, The Checklist Assistant, which is a subscription-based database that can help you locate specific educational resources for specific topics of study.

Sign up for my newsletter and "friend" my Blog. The Blog features curriculum and app reviews, learning resources, and teaching tips. The newsletter is for those who like to get this information as an e-mail, in addition to viewing it on the Blog.

Drop me a note to tell me what you think of this website, send me any ideas you have for additions, and/or if you find any broken links. (Please include a link to the page in which the link is broken.)

Please use the "Share" buttons found throughout the website to tell your friends about the resources found here. I don't advertise in magazines, so I depend on my friends to get the word out. Thanks for helping me make this one of the best homeschool websites on the Internet.

Have a great day!

Cindy Downes
